David Joshua Gomes was born August 11, 1985 in New Bedford, MA. He was the son of Robin Gomes and David Harris. At an early age, David was baptized into the Christian faith. Affectionately known as, “D”, “Gomes”, and “Dave”, he received his education from the Suffolk Public School System, attending Lakeland High School. While in school David played football – Suffolk Steelers, and was a running back. He was employed with Lamberts Cable Splicing Company, LLC in Chesapeake, Virginia. David loved his family. There wasn’t anything he wouldn’t do for his family. He was known as “Mr. Fix It” in the family, working on anyone’s car. When he wasn’t doing that, he would be spending time with his best friend and baby brother, “Gee” or he would be vibing with a blunt, watching his team – The New England Patriots. David was also a top notch fashion guru, and he will be sorely missed. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Lucille Gomes; maternal grandfather, Elvin Ritter; and his aunt, Hazel Davis. He leaves to cherish his memories: his mother, Robin Gomes; father, David Harris; siblings: Aujaunai Gomes and Gerard Gomes; his fiance, Paula Fenner; six children; Deasia Gomes, Brea Gomes, David Gomes, Jr., Deontae Gomes, Keontae Gomes, and Paris Gomes; four nieces, Shaniya Johnson, Arii Wood, Iyanna Wood, and Zyla Gomes; special cousin, Brandon Campbell; special friend, William “Mr. No Good”; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.
